Faculty Feature Friday: Dennis Wymer

Encouraging individual artistic expression is important for growing minds. Mr. Dennis Wymer encourages originality and confidence for his students and peers.

Mr. Wymer is an art teacher and head wrestling coach at Oak Hill Academy, and has been inspiring our classrooms for five years. He earned his B.F.A. in Art Education and studied painting and printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University, and has recently earned his M.F.A. in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Mr. Wymer’s favorite part of working at Oak Hill Academy is the community.

“There is a strong sense of community,” Mr. Wymer said, “and there is an enthusiastic willingness to support others here at Oak Hill.”

When Mr. Wymer isn’t in the classroom or in the weight room, you can find him playing ice hockey, volleyball, and “reading big books about really smart things and small books about really silly things.”

Oak Hill Academy is blessed to have Mr. Dennis Wymer.
