Oak Hill is the boarding school for basketball
If you love basketball, it doesn’t get any better than here. Our three competitive boys’ basketball teams routinely send players to NCAA Division I, II, and III teams all over the country — even to the NBA.
Under the guidance of Coach Yerrick Stoneman, you’ll have the opportunity to maximize your skill and talent while also studying in a rigorous college-prep curriculum that will prepare you for the next step in your academic career.
Please note: We are an academic high school and do not offer a post-graduate program. Being a member of an Oak Hill Academy basketball team does not equate to or guarantee a scholarship to any college basketball programs.
Our Teams
Tryouts take place during the beginning of the fall semester for Red and White team placements, while Gold Team is invitation-only. Placement–and advancement–are based on talent as well as character.
All of our players are traditional high school students, not grade 13 or gap-year students.
Gold Team
Gold Team placement is by invitation-only, as determined by the head coach. This 12-player group is comprised almost exclusively of Division I-level talent. More than half are considered upper-level Division I talent (often receiving invitations from schools with well-established programs like Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, etc.).

Red Team
Our advanced varsity team is comprised of experienced players, mostly upperclassmen (11th and 12th grade). Underclassmen on the Red Team may occasionally have an opportunity to “move up” to the Gold Team the following year. Typically, graduating seniors from this team are offered scholarships from colleges at the Division II or Division III level.
International Team
For students who may be new the United States’ style of play, our inclusive and competitive international team provides an opportunity to represent Oak Hill in interscholastic and club competition. Students of any ability level are invited to come work on their development through written feedback, strength and conditioning, skills training, and knowledge of game curriculum.
White Team
Advanced junior varsity is for players not yet at the Red Team level, and talented players can “move up” to the Red Team.
