The Oak Hill Academy soccer team played their home opener against Providence Academy from Johnson City, TN, on Monday, September 30.

Presenting many opportunities for offense, seniors Francesco B., Thomas C-R. and Amar D. combined for 34 steals. As a collective, the team had many opportunities to score, connecting four times. Thomas and juniors Jonathan D., Josh M., and Emeka N. scored to keep Oak Hill in the game.

At the conclusion of regulation play, the score was tied at 4-4. A shootout is used to determine the winner. This intense end to the game saw Oak Hill downed 3-2.

Coach Andy Smith was more than pleased with the team’s efforts, saying, “Our boys played their best game of the season by far. They have really come together to play hard and never give up! I am extremely happy with the entire team for playing such an exciting game!”
