On December 6th and 7th, the Oak Hill Academy Wrestling Team traveled to Hidden Valley High School in Roanoke, Virginia, for the “Titan Toughman” tournament. Attending this event were OHA wrestlers Connor Sewitsky ‘19, Dillon Phipps ‘20, Corey Shupe ’19, Will Heard ‘20, Kevin Kennedy ‘19 and Bridget Hoffman ’21; manager Andie Schultz ’21; and coach Mr. Dennis Wymer. The tournament included competitors in 14 weight classes from 19 public and private schools throughout Southwest Virginia.
Day one of the tournament saw six OHA Warriors in action. Connor and Corey both went 2 and 1. Bridget went 0 and 2. Kevin and Dillon both went 1 and 1, and Will won his match. After day one of the tournament, Connor said, “I had a really good time wrestling, and it was some great competition.” On the second day, Connor went 3 and 2, and Corey went 2 and 2. This was an exciting event for the team.
