International students fit in at Oak Hill—and stand out as college applicants

Since our founding in 1878, Oak Hill Academy has been committed to nurturing student growth—and that commitment has always extended to international students. We have a long and successful history of welcoming students from outside of the U.S. to our school community, and we are fully accredited and authorized by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enroll nonimmigrant students.

As a 100% boarding high school, Oak Hill is dedicated to both academic and personal growth. Students are fully engaged in campus life, and they have daily opportunities to explore their interests, as well as to meet with their teachers after class and to excel academically.

All of our students can choose from a wide variety of clubs and sports, and there are regular weekend activities, too. From elite basketball to horsemanship, our international students are widely active in all of our programs.

Our focus on nurturing the whole student gives Oak Hill graduates a distinct advantage during the college application process. As colleges and universities increasingly focus on extracurricular activities and community service—in addition to academic and SAT/ACT/TOEFL test performance—our students continue to stand out.

Oak Hill students are competitive candidates for top schools, and many of our international students have earned acceptances at their first-choice college or university, even earning scholarships post-high school.
