Oak Hill Academy is a college preparatory high school, and our curriculum sets students up to succeed in higher education.
Academics are at the forefront of our college readiness program. But we also support students through the College Lab, where our counselors work one-on-one with students to assess their individual needs.
“The faculty truly care about us. Being an international student, I had difficulties getting financial aid with my student visa,” an international senior said. “Mr. Hill helped me find the right fit where I could still go to university.”
Because it is common challenge of the college search process, finding scholarships and other financial aid is a central part of the work we do in the College Lab. College counselor Mr. Hill is able to help students research applicable scholarships to apply for. This year, we are proud to report that the class of 2022 was awarded over $2 million in scholarships.
Thanks to their work in the classroom and in the College Lab, our students consistently tell us they feel prepared for college. When asked what they are most excited about for life after Oak Hill, our students say they are most excited to truly exert their skills in independence as adults.
“Oak Hill has definitely helped me become more independent,” Oak Hill senior Arthurline said.
From learning core life skills at Oak Hill to utilizing those skills in the next chapter of life, we couldn’t be more proud of our seniors and the work of the College Lab.
