The Fine Arts department includes visual arts, vocal and instrumental music, and theater, and is configured to provide students with a core base of study in the fine arts. The study of the creative process will provide students with a means by which they can appreciate culture and understand their value as individuals.
Art courses are available during the school day for all levels of ability. All art students participate in the annual Oak Hill Academy Art Show. Recent graduates have been accepted to art schools such as Corcoran College of Art and Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Ringling College of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, Savannah College of Art and Design, Parsons the New School for Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts.
Courses are offered during the school day for instrumental instruction at all levels of ability in guitar and other stringed instruments. Theater and Film Theory courses are offered in alternate years as part of the academic curriculum. Musical and drama performances are scheduled throughout the year for the student body and for parent events.
