GENERAL NOTES
All plane departures to go home should be made for after 4:00 p.m. the Saturday the break begins. All plane reservations for return to campus after breaks should be made for arrival in Charlotte prior to 6:00 p.m. on the Monday that break concludes. If return flights are delayed, parents should notify the office (276-579-2619) before 5 p.m. or Beth Bunn after 5 p.m. -- cell phone (276)768-7391 or home (276)579-3061.
Flight plans should be made to and from Charlotte, North Carolina. Taxi fare from Charlotte to the campus should cost between $250.00 - $300.00 per trip. We recommend and use All-Star Transportation Service operating out of Lake Norman (704-238-1722). Driving time from Charlotte takes around 3 hours. As you leave the airport, the driver would take I-85 NORTH to I-77 NORTH. You will stay on I-77 NORTH until you cross the Virginia state line and come to Exit 14, Highway #58 WEST (Hillsville-Galax Exit). At this exit there is a Best Western, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn if you need overnight accommodations. The driving time from this intersection to the campus is approximately one hour and ten minutes. To reach the campus from this location, you would take Highway #58-WEST through Galax, Independence, and Mouth of Wilson. The campus is located approximately 45 miles from the I-77 exit on Highway #58. All offices close at 4:30 p.m.

Students may depart from the campus at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 21, 2009, and are due back on campus by 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 30. All public transportation, airplane reservations and Oak Hill Bus arrangements for departing are to be planned for Saturday afternoon and evening, November 21.

Students may depart from the campus at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2009. All public transportation, airline reservations, and bus arrangements for departing are to be planned for Saturday afternoon and evening, December 19. New students enter for the semester on Monday, January 11th. For returning students, the Oak Hill Bus will depart from Charlotte Airport at 6:00 p.m. on TUESDAY, JANUARY 12th.

CHARTER BUS TO CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, AT THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS AND SPRING BREAK
Charge per round trip - $190.00 (subject to change dependent upon fuel cost). Charter Bus reservations are nonrefundable and nontransferable, and they cannot be charged to the Student Expense Account. Checks should be payable to Oak Hill Academy and mailed to the Transportation Secretary, OAK HILL ACADEMY, 2635 Oak Hill Road, Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363-3004. Students under 15 years of age who are flying as an unaccompanied minor may be charged an additional fee for transportation. Please contact the transportation office with questions regarding transportation for unaccompanied minors.
TRAVEL AT OTHER TIMES
Transportation will also be offered at other times including the beginning of school in the fall, Parents Weekends and at the ending of school in May. Please contact Mrs. Bunn directly concerning cost and to arrange transportation for these times. If students are using school transportation, all information must be forwarded to Mrs. Bunn at least one week in advance. Students whose information is received late will be assessed a late fee.
